Possible Causes
Shorted LED light module, Failed light driver on control board, Damaged light wiring in cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before working on the light assembly or control board.
Steps to address F3:
- Check light operation: With the door open and unit powered (before unplugging), note whether the interior light is stuck on, off, or flickering.
- Access light module: Remove the light lens or cover inside the cabinet (usually snaps or screws off). Inspect the LED module or bulb and wiring.
- Inspect for damage: Look for burn marks, melted plastic, or moisture inside the light housing.
- Disconnect light module: Unplug the light from its connector. Restore power briefly to see if F3 clears with the light disconnected (then unplug again). If it does, the light module is likely shorted.
- Replace faulty part: Install a new LED light module or interior light assembly compatible with your Kenmore model.
- Check control board if needed: If F3 persists even with the light disconnected, the light driver circuit on the main control board may be faulty and the board may need replacement.
