Possible Causes

Stuck compressor relay on control board, Faulty temperature sensor reading too warm, Control board logic failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before accessing the control board or sensors.

Steps to address L1/LO:

  • Check temperature setting: Confirm that the set temperature is appropriate for wine storage and has not been accidentally set too low.
  • Verify sensor readings: Compare the displayed temperature to an accurate thermometer placed inside the cooler. If the display is much higher than actual, the sensor may be faulty.
  • Inspect cabinet thermistor: Access the interior sensor as described for E1. Check for proper mounting and test resistance with a multimeter. Replace the cabinet temperature sensor if readings are out of range.
  • Check control board: If the sensor is good but the compressor runs almost constantly and the unit overcools, the cooling relay on the main control board may be stuck closed.
  • Replace control board if needed: Access and replace the main PCB with the correct Kenmore part if the relay is suspected to be stuck or burned.
  • Monitor operation: After repairs, allow the unit to stabilize for several hours and confirm that the temperature cycles around the setpoint without freezing bottles.
