Possible Causes
Defective cabinet NTC temperature sensor, Broken or loose sensor wiring harness, Corroded or loose connector on main control board, Failed main control board temperature input circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Kismile wine cooler from the wall outlet before removing any panels. Do not work on live electrical parts.
- Power reset: Unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes, then plug it back in to see if the E1 code clears. If it returns, continue.
- Access the cabinet sensor: Open the cooler and locate the small plastic sensor probe usually clipped to the evaporator cover or inner rear wall. On many Kismile models, the sensor wire runs behind the rear liner to the control board at the top or rear of the unit.
- Inspect wiring: Check the sensor wire for cuts, pinches, or signs of rodent damage. Ensure the plug is fully seated on the main control board connector.
- Test the sensor (if you have a multimeter): Disconnect the NTC sensor from the board and measure resistance at room temperature. Typical NTC sensors read between 5–50 kΩ at 25°C. If the reading is open (OL) or 0 Ω, the sensor is bad.
- Replace the sensor: If damaged or out of spec, order a compatible Kismile cabinet temperature sensor (NTC probe). Route the new sensor along the original path, avoiding sharp bends, and reconnect it to the control board.
- Check the control board: If a known-good sensor still triggers E1, the main control board temperature input may be faulty and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
