Wine cooler emits a strong chemical or plastic odor inside the cabinet

Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning. Ensure good ventilation while using cleaners.

• Step 1 – Initial airing: For new units, run the cooler empty for several days with the door closed, then open and air out.
• Step 2 – Deep clean interior: Remove all bottles and shelves. Clean interior surfaces with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, followed by a rinse with a baking soda solution (1–2 tablespoons per quart of water).
• Step 3 – Clean drain pan: Access the rear and clean the condensate drain pan above the compressor, which can harbor odors.
