Display shows E2 and the wine cooler runs erratically or not at all; temperature reading is inaccurate or blank.

Safety: Disconnect the wine cooler from the outlet before opening any panels.

How to troubleshoot E2:

• Confirm model layout: Some dual-zone Koolatron wine coolers use a second sensor for the upper zone or ambient air. Check your user manual to identify the E2 sensor location.
• Locate the sensor: Look for a small probe or plastic housing near the top of the cabinet or in the upper zone. The wire will route to the rear or side of the unit.
• Visual inspection: Check for broken insulation, pinched wires near shelves, or damage where the wire passes through the liner.
• Access the control board: Remove the rear cover and locate the connector labeled for the second or ambient sensor. Carefully unplug and re-seat it.
• Measure resistance: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the sensor leads at room temperature. Compare to the cabinet sensor if they are the same type. A reading of OL (open) or near 0 Ω indicates a bad sensor.
• Replace the sensor: Install a new Koolatron ambient/upper zone temperature sensor if the old one is defective. Secure the wire and avoid sharp bends.
• Board replacement: If both sensors test good but E2 persists, the main control board may be faulty and require replacement.
