Possible Causes
Door gasket leaking warm moist air, Door frequently opened, Defective defrost sensor or heater (if equipped), Thermostat set too low
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Always unplug the cooler before defrosting or inspecting components.
Steps:
- Manual defrost: Remove all bottles, unplug the unit, and allow the ice to melt. Place towels to catch water. Do not use sharp tools to chip ice.
- Inspect door gasket: Check for gaps, tears, or hardened sections. Close the door on a sheet of paper; if it pulls out easily, the gasket may not be sealing. Replace the door gasket if needed.
- Check temperature setting: Raise the set temperature slightly to reduce frost formation.
- Defrost components (if present): On compressor models with automatic defrost, inspect the defrost sensor and defrost heater for continuity. Replace any open components.
