Possible Causes
Blown internal fuse on control board, Failed power supply board, Loose power cord connection, Faulty outlet or tripped breaker
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: Mains voltage is dangerous. If you are not comfortable working around live AC circuits, contact a qualified technician.
Steps:
- Check outlet: Plug a lamp or other device into the same outlet to confirm it has power. Reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Ensure the plug fits snugly in the outlet.
- Access control board: Unplug the cooler, remove the rear cover, and locate the main control/power board.
- Check internal fuse: Many Koolatron boards have a small glass or ceramic fuse. Remove it and test for continuity with a multimeter. Replace with the same rating if blown. If it blows again immediately, there is a deeper short that needs professional diagnosis.
- Look for burnt components: If the board shows obvious burn damage, replace the main control/power board.
