Possible Causes
Low or no refrigerant charge due to leak, Blocked capillary tube, Weak compressor, Condenser fan not running
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: Refrigerant system repairs require specialized tools and certification. Do not cut or open sealed system lines yourself.
Basic checks you can do:
- Clean condenser: Unplug the unit and clean dust from the condenser coils and fan at the rear or bottom of the cooler.
- Check condenser fan: Plug in and verify the condenser fan runs when the compressor is on. Replace the condenser fan motor if it does not run.
- Feel the evaporator: After 10–15 minutes of running, the evaporator (behind the interior rear panel) should be uniformly cool or frosty. If only a small section is cold or there is no cooling at all, the sealed system likely has a leak or restriction.
- Call a professional: For refrigerant leaks, compressor replacement, or capillary blockages, contact an authorized Koolatron service technician. These repairs are not DIY-safe.
