Possible Causes
High ambient humidity, Door gasket leakage, Failed door heater (on heated glass models), Poor door insulation or damaged door seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal electrical work is typically required; unplug only if removing door components.
Steps:
- 1. Check environment: High humidity rooms (cellars, kitchens without ventilation) can cause door condensation. Improve room ventilation or use a dehumidifier.
- 2. Inspect gasket: Ensure the door gasket is clean and sealing all around. Clean with mild soap and warm water, then dry.
- 3. Verify door heater (if equipped): Some La Sommeliere models have a low-wattage heater around the door frame. If the frame feels cold and condensation is heavy, the heater circuit may have failed and may require PCB or heater harness replacement by a technician.
- 4. Avoid frequent opening: Reduce door openings and duration to limit moist air entering the cabinet.
Note: Light condensation in very humid conditions can be normal; heavy or persistent fogging may indicate a sealing or heater issue.
