Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Always unplug the unit before accessing the electronics. Capacitors on the PCB can retain charge briefly after unplugging.
Steps:
- 1. Power reset: Unplug the cooler for at least 10 minutes, then plug back in. If E9 returns immediately, proceed.
- 2. Access main PCB: Remove the rear lower service panel or top cover (depending on model) to reach the main control board.
- 3. Visual inspection: Look for burnt components, swollen capacitors, or darkened areas on the PCB. Check that all connectors are fully seated.
- 4. Check supply voltage: Verify that the board is receiving correct mains voltage at its input (only if you are qualified to work on live circuits). If no power, inspect the power cord and internal fuse (if fitted).
- 5. Replace PCB: If the board shows visible damage or E9 persists with correct power and wiring, replace the La Sommeliere main control board. Transfer any configuration jumpers or wiring exactly as on the original.
- 6. Reassemble and test: Refit covers, restore power, and verify normal operation and temperature control.
Warning: If you are not experienced with mains-voltage electronics, have a professional perform PCB diagnostics and replacement.
