Possible Causes

Stuck relay on main PCB keeping compressor on, Misreading temperature sensor, Incorrect setpoint or calibration, Ambient temperature too low for design

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing internal components.

Steps:

  • 1. Confirm settings: Verify the set temperature is correct for wine storage and that any "fast cooling" or "super" mode is turned off.
  • 2. Check ambient conditions: If the cooler is in a very cold room (e.g., unheated garage), the control system may behave abnormally. Move the unit to a room within the specified ambient range.
  • 3. Inspect temperature sensors: Follow the steps for E1/E2/E7 to ensure sensors are correctly mounted and reading accurately.
  • 4. Observe compressor cycling: With a thermometer inside, monitor whether the compressor turns off once the setpoint is reached. If it runs continuously and temperature drops too low, the main control board relay may be stuck.
  • 5. Replace control board if needed: If sensors are good and the compressor does not cycle off, replace the La Sommeliere main control board.

Note: Prolonged overcooling can damage wine; until repaired, raise the setpoint or unplug the unit and temporarily store bottles elsewhere.
