Thermoelectric La Sommeliere wine cooler is very hot at the rear heat sink but interior is only slightly cool.

Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning or servicing the rear components.

Steps:

• 1. Clean heat sink: Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust from the rear aluminum fins.
• 2. Check rear fan: Ensure the fan spins freely and runs when the unit is cooling. Replace the La Sommeliere thermoelectric rear fan if it is noisy or not running.
• 3. Improve ventilation: Provide more clearance around the unit and avoid enclosing it in tight cabinetry.
• 4. Evaluate ambient temperature: Thermoelectric coolers lose efficiency in hot rooms; move the unit to a cooler location if possible.
• 5. Replace Peltier module: If all else is good but cooling remains weak, the Peltier module may be partially failed and should be replaced.
