Possible Causes

Misplaced temperature sensor touching evaporator, Faulty NTC sensor reading too warm, Stuck compressor relay on PCB, Incorrect calibration of control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing internal panels.

Steps:

  • 1. Verify setpoint: Confirm the displayed set temperature is appropriate for wine (typically 10–14°C for reds, 6–10°C for whites).
  • 2. Check sensor placement: Remove the inner rear panel and locate the cabinet sensor. Ensure it is not in direct contact with the evaporator coil; it should sense air temperature, not coil temperature.
  • 3. Inspect sensor: If the sensor is incorrectly routed or taped to the coil, reposition it to its original clip or bracket on the rear wall.
  • 4. Test sensor: Measure resistance and compare to expected values. Replace the La Sommeliere cabinet NTC sensor if readings are out of range.
  • 5. Observe compressor cycling: After reassembly, monitor whether the compressor cycles off when the setpoint is reached. If it runs continuously despite correct sensor readings, the main control board relay may be stuck and should be replaced.
