Possible Causes
Normal automatic defrost cycle, Extended defrost due to heavy frost, Faulty defrost sensor causing prolonged defrost, Control board defrost logic error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: On some Lanbo models, dF is a normal indication that the unit is in defrost mode. It should clear automatically.
- 1. Wait and observe:
- Allow 20–40 minutes for the defrost cycle to complete.
- Check if dF disappears and cooling resumes.
- 2. Check for excessive frost:
- If dF remains for hours, unplug the unit and inspect the evaporator for heavy ice buildup.
- Manually defrost if necessary by leaving doors open until all ice melts.
- 3. Inspect defrost sensor:
- If dF persists or recurs frequently, test and possibly replace the defrost sensor.
- 4. Control board evaluation:
- If the sensor is good and dF never clears, the main control board may be stuck in defrost and should be replaced by a technician.
