Possible Causes
Open or shorted upper temperature sensor (NTC), Broken sensor wiring harness, Corroded sensor connector on main control board, Faulty main control board sensor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.
- Confirm the error: Note if E1 appears only for the upper zone (dual-zone Lanbopro models) and if the upper zone temperature display is abnormal.
- Locate the upper sensor: Inside the upper compartment, find the small plastic sensor cover on the rear or side wall. Remove the cover to expose the sensor probe.
- Inspect wiring: Gently pull the sensor forward and check the wire for cuts, pinches, or signs of rodent damage. Follow the harness to where it exits the liner and ensure it is not crushed.
- Check connections at the control board: Access the rear lower panel to reach the main control board. Verify the upper sensor connector is fully seated and free of corrosion.
- Replace the sensor: If the wiring looks intact but E1 persists, replace the upper temperature sensor (NTC probe) with a Lanbopro-compatible part. Route the new sensor along the original path and secure it away from the evaporator fan blades.
- Control board check: If a new sensor does not clear E1, the main control board sensor circuit may be defective and require replacement.
