Display shows EC and the unit is not cooling or is cooling very poorly.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before inspection. Sealed system repairs involve refrigerant and should be performed by a licensed technician.

• Basic checks: Confirm the temperature setpoints are correct and that doors are sealing properly. Ensure the unit has adequate ventilation.
• Clean condenser: Remove the rear lower panel and clean the condenser coils thoroughly.
• Compressor and fan operation: Briefly plug in the unit and verify that the compressor and condenser fan run. Unplug again before touching components.
• Check for frost pattern: Remove the interior rear panel and inspect the evaporator coil. A normal system will show even frost across most of the coil after 10–15 minutes of run time. A partial frost pattern or no frost suggests a sealed system issue.
• When to call a pro: If EC persists and you observe a weak frost pattern, warm evaporator, or oily residue on tubing (sign of leak), contact a professional refrigeration technician. They may need to repair leaks, evacuate, and recharge the system or replace the compressor.
