Possible Causes
Cabinet thermistor out of calibration, Stuck compressor relay on main PCB, Control board firmware fault, Incorrect sensor installed from prior repair
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors or the control board.
Steps:
- 1. Verify with separate thermometer: Place an accurate thermometer inside and compare actual temperature to the display. Note any large difference.
- 2. Adjust setpoint: Raise the set temperature several degrees and monitor for 12–24 hours. If the unit still overcools, suspect sensor or control issues.
- 3. Test cabinet thermistor: Access the interior sensor and measure resistance at known temperatures. Replace if readings do not match LG's NTC curve.
- 4. Inspect control board relay: If the compressor runs almost constantly regardless of setpoint, the compressor relay may be stuck closed. Replace the main control board.
- 5. Confirm correct parts: If the sensor was recently replaced, verify the part number matches the LG specification for your model.
Interim measure: Until repaired, set the unit to a warmer setting and monitor with an independent thermometer to protect your wine.
