Possible Causes
Unplugged or broken temperature sensor, Sensor reading outside valid range due to extreme conditions, Faulty main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing interior panels.
Steps:
- Normalize conditions: Ensure the cooler is in a normal room environment (not in freezing garage or very hot area). Allow several hours for internal temperature to stabilize.
- Inspect cabinet thermistor: Remove the interior sensor cover and verify the sensor is firmly attached and not dangling or broken.
- Check sensor connection at board: Access the main control board and confirm the sensor connector is fully seated.
- Test sensor: Use a multimeter to measure resistance. An open or shorted reading indicates a failed sensor that must be replaced.
- Replace sensor or board: If the sensor is bad, install a new cabinet thermistor. If the sensor tests good but the display still shows dashes, replace the main control board.
