Possible Causes
Burned-out LED light assembly, Faulty magnetic or mechanical door switch, Loose light connector, Failed light driver circuit on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before working near wiring or light assemblies.
Steps:
- Check light settings: Some Magic Chef models allow the light to be turned off via the control panel. Press the light button to ensure it is not simply disabled.
- Inspect door switch: Look for a small plunger switch in the door frame or a magnetic reed switch hidden in the cabinet. Press the plunger or hold a magnet near the frame to see if the light comes on.
- Access light assembly: Remove the interior light cover (usually snaps off). Check for loose wiring or burnt LED board.
- Test LED assembly: If you have a multimeter with diode test, you can check the LED board. Otherwise, replace the light assembly if it shows burn marks or physical damage.
- Check wiring to control board: Ensure the light harness is firmly connected to the main board.
- Replace faulty part: Install a new LED light module or door switch compatible with your Magic Chef model.
