How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning. Use non-abrasive cleaners safe for food-contact surfaces.
Steps:
- Empty and inspect: Remove all bottles and shelves. Check for spills, mold spots, or standing water.
- Clean interior: Wipe all surfaces with a solution of warm water and mild detergent, followed by a mixture of 1 tablespoon baking soda in 1 quart of water. Pay attention to corners and seams.
- Clean gasket: Gently pull back the door gasket folds and clean inside with the same solution to remove trapped moisture and mold.
- Check drain system: Ensure the condensate drain hole and tube are clear so water does not stagnate.
- Dry thoroughly: Leave the door open for several hours to air out and dry completely before restocking.
- Odor absorbers: Place an open box of baking soda or activated charcoal inside to absorb residual odors.
