Possible Causes
Door switch stuck in closed position, Misaligned door magnet for reed switch, Shorted light relay on control board, Control board firmware glitch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before adjusting switches or panels.
Steps:
- Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closing and not hitting shelves or bottles. A slightly open door can keep the switch engaged.
- Inspect mechanical switch: If your model has a visible plunger switch, press and release it several times. If it feels sticky or does not move freely, replace it.
- Magnetic switch models: For hidden reed switches, verify the door gasket and magnet strip are intact and aligned with the switch area in the frame.
- Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes and plug back in to clear any control glitches.
- Replace switch or board: If the light remains on with the switch manually held in the "door closed" position, the control board's light relay may be stuck. Replace the main control board.
Note: A light that stays on will heat the cabinet and affect wine temperature; address promptly.
