Possible Causes

Child lock feature enabled, Stuck or shorted keypad buttons, Control panel membrane failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Note: CL is typically not a fault but a user-activated lock. Only proceed to hardware checks if normal unlock steps fail.

  • 1. Try standard unlock: Press and hold the designated lock key (often the temperature up and down buttons together, or a key labeled “Lock”) for 3–5 seconds until CL disappears.
  • 2. Power reset: Unplug the unit for 5 minutes, then plug back in. Attempt the unlock sequence again.
  • 3. Inspect keypad: If CL will not clear, the keypad may be stuck. Check for moisture or spills on the control panel. Gently clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
  • 4. Check control panel ribbon cable: Remove the control panel trim and inspect the ribbon cable connection to the main control board. Reseat the cable.
  • 5. Replace control panel or UI board: If buttons remain unresponsive or CL cannot be cleared, replace the user interface/control panel assembly.
