Wine cooler displays E5 and compressor or fans may not run correctly.

Safety: Always unplug the wine cooler before accessing the control board. Capacitors on the board can hold a charge briefly; avoid touching components unnecessarily.

• 1. Power reset: Unplug the unit for at least 10 minutes to allow the control to fully discharge. Plug back in and check if E5 clears.
• 2. Check supply voltage: Use a multimeter to verify that the outlet provides a stable 120V AC (or local standard). Low or fluctuating voltage can cause logic errors.
• 3. Access control board: Remove the rear service panel to expose the main control board. Inspect for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or signs of moisture damage.
• 4. Reseat connectors: One by one, unplug and firmly reconnect all harnesses to the control board. Look for bent pins or corrosion. Clean light oxidation with electrical contact cleaner.
• 5. Check ground and neutral: Ensure the ground wire is securely attached to the chassis and that neutral connections are tight.
• 6. Replace control board if needed: If E5 persists and no wiring issues are found, replace the main control board with a compatible Maytag part. Transfer any jumper settings or wiring exactly as on the original.
• 7. Test operation: Restore power and verify that the display operates normally, compressor and fans cycle, and E5 does not reappear.
