How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- 1. Inspect for moisture: Look for condensation or liquid spills around the control panel. Dry the area thoroughly and allow the panel to air out for several hours.
- 2. Remove control panel: Carefully pry off the trim and remove screws securing the panel. Gently pull the panel forward to access the ribbon cable.
- 3. Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable between the keypad and main control board. Ensure it is fully seated and not damaged.
- 4. Test operation: Restore power and check if F1 clears and buttons respond normally.
- 5. Replace keypad/UI board: If the error persists, replace the user interface or keypad assembly with a compatible Maytag part.
