Excessive frost or ice buildup on the evaporator and rear interior wall; cooling performance gradually declines.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before defrosting or accessing electrical components. Do not use sharp tools to remove ice.

• 1. Manual defrost:
  • Remove all bottles and shelves.
  • Leave doors open and place towels to catch water.
  • Allow all ice to melt completely (this may take several hours).
• 2. Inspect door gasket:
  • Replace if torn or not sealing, as air leaks can cause excessive frost.
• 3. Test defrost components (advanced):
  • Access the evaporator and locate the defrost heater and sensor.
  • Check heater continuity and sensor resistance with a multimeter.
• 4. Replace faulty parts:
  • Install a new Miele defrost heater or sensor if tests show they are defective.
• 5. Control board: If heater and sensor are good but frost returns quickly, the defrost control on the main board may be faulty and should be replaced by a technician.
