Possible Causes
Blocked condenser airflow, Extremely high ambient temperature, Failed condenser fan, Overheating compressor, Faulty high-temperature sensor or thermal fuse
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool if the compressor area feels very hot.
- Check installation: Ensure the wine cooler has proper clearance per Monogram specifications (typically several inches at rear and sides). Do not enclose it tightly without ventilation.
- Clean condenser: Remove the rear lower panel and vacuum dust from the condenser coil and surrounding area. A dirty condenser can cause overheating.
- Verify condenser fan operation: With power restored, confirm that the condenser fan runs whenever the compressor is on. If not, troubleshoot as a condenser fan fault (see E9).
- Ambient temperature: Confirm the room temperature is within the rated range for the unit (often 55–90°F). Extremely hot rooms can trigger overheat protection.
- Inspect thermal devices: Some models use a thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat near the compressor or condenser. With power off, test continuity across these devices. Replace any open thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat with the correct Monogram part.
- Control board: If all hardware checks out but E10 persists, the main control board’s temperature monitoring circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
After corrections, clear the code by disconnecting power for several minutes, then monitor operation.
