Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Obstructed fan blades due to ice or wiring, Loose fan connector, Faulty fan driver circuit on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before accessing internal fans.
- Access evaporator fan: Remove interior shelves and the rear panel to expose the evaporator and fan assembly.
- Inspect for obstructions: Check that the fan blades spin freely by hand. Remove any ice buildup, wiring, or insulation contacting the blades. If there is heavy frost, fully defrost the unit.
- Check wiring: Ensure the fan motor connector is fully seated and wires are not pinched or cut.
- Test fan operation: After reassembling enough to be safe, briefly restore power and close the door switch (if present). Listen for the fan running. If the fan does not run but receives proper voltage (check with a multimeter if qualified), the motor is defective.
- Replace fan motor: Remove mounting screws, disconnect the harness, and install a new Monogram-compatible evaporator fan motor. Ensure the fan is oriented correctly for proper airflow.
- Control board check: If a known-good fan does not run and no voltage is present at the fan connector, the main control board’s fan driver may be faulty and require replacement.
Confirm that the E8 code clears after repair and that airflow is strong and unobstructed.
