Possible Causes
Shorted temperature sensor, Sensor pushed into direct airflow or contact with evaporator, Control board miscalibration, Wiring short to ground
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing interior panels.
- Verify actual temperature: Place an accurate thermometer inside the wine cooler to confirm the real temperature. If the display shows Lo but the interior is not excessively cold, the sensor reading is incorrect.
- Inspect sensor placement: Remove the interior panel and locate the cabinet thermistor. Ensure it is not touching the evaporator or metal surfaces that can cause artificially low readings.
- Check wiring for shorts: Look for damaged insulation or wires pinched against metal, which can cause a short and low reading.
- Test sensor resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at known temperatures. If resistance is much lower than expected or near 0 ohms, replace the sensor.
- Control board: If the sensor and wiring are good but the display still shows Lo, the main control board may be misreading the sensor and should be replaced.
After repair, compare the displayed temperature to a separate thermometer to confirm accuracy.
