Safety: Sealed-system work involves refrigerant and requires EPA-certified service. Do not attempt to open the sealed system yourself.
- Check door sealing: First confirm the door gasket seals all around and that the door is not frequently opened. Warm air infiltration can mimic cooling problems.
- Clean condenser: Vacuum dust from the condenser coil and ensure the condenser fan runs properly. Poor airflow reduces cooling capacity.
- Monitor run time: If the compressor runs nearly 100% of the time but the cabinet never reaches set temperature, a sealed-system issue is likely.
- Check for frost pattern: With the interior panel removed, observe the evaporator after 15–20 minutes of run time. A normal system shows even frost across most of the coil. Frost only at the inlet or no frost suggests low charge or restriction.
- Call professional: If a sealed-system issue is suspected, contact an authorized Monogram technician for leak detection, repair, evacuation, and recharge.
