Possible Causes

Defective cabinet NTC sensor, Broken or loose sensor wiring harness, Corroded connector on main control PCB, Failed main control PCB temperature input circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the mQuvée wine cooler from the mains before removing any panels. Do not work on live circuits.

  • Power reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect. If E1 clears temporarily and returns, the sensor or wiring is likely faulty.
  • Locate the cabinet sensor: Inside the wine cooler, find the small plastic sensor probe usually mounted on the rear or side wall, often routed through a grommet to the back of the unit.
  • Inspect wiring: Remove the rear service panel. Trace the sensor wires from the cabinet to the main control PCB. Check for pinched, cut, or chewed wires and repair with proper crimp connectors or solder and heat‑shrink tubing.
  • Check connections: Unplug and re‑seat the sensor connector on the main control PCB. Look for corrosion or bent pins and clean with electrical contact cleaner if needed.
  • Test the sensor (if you have a multimeter): At room temperature, measure resistance across the NTC sensor leads. A typical wine cooler NTC will read between ~5–20 kΩ at 20–25°C. If it reads open (infinite) or short (near 0 Ω), replace the sensor.
  • Replace the sensor: If defective, remove the old NTC probe, route the new one along the same path, and secure it with clips or tape away from moving parts. Connect it firmly to the PCB.
  • If E1 persists: The temperature input circuit on the main control PCB may be damaged. Replacement of the main control PCB is recommended and is best done by a qualified technician.
