Possible Causes
Defective lower zone NTC sensor, Damaged wiring harness in lower compartment, Loose connector at main control PCB, Failed sensor input on main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before any disassembly.
- Identify lower sensor: Remove lower shelves and look for a sensor probe or small plastic housing on the rear or side wall of the lower compartment.
- Check cable routing: Ensure the sensor cable is not trapped under shelf rails or damaged by bottles. Free any pinched sections.
- Access rear: Remove the rear metal cover. Trace the lower sensor wires to the main control PCB. Inspect for cuts, abrasions, or rodent damage.
- Reconnect and secure: Disconnect and reconnect the sensor plug on the PCB. Use cable ties to keep the harness away from the condenser fan and compressor.
- Resistance test: Compare resistance of the lower sensor to the upper sensor (if same type) at similar temperature. Replace the lower NTC sensor if readings are open, shorted, or significantly off.
- Reassemble and test: Refit panels, restore power, and monitor if E3 clears and the lower zone stabilizes.
- If unresolved: A defective main control PCB may misread the sensor. Replacement of the PCB is recommended via an authorized mQuvée service partner.
