Possible Causes
Failed DC fan motor, Fan blade obstructed by wiring or insulation, Loose fan connector at PCB, Faulty fan driver circuit on main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the appliance from mains power before accessing fans.
- Listen for fan operation: After plugging in (briefly), you should normally hear a low fan noise. If silent and E6 appears, proceed with inspection after unplugging again.
- Access interior fan: Remove shelves and the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
- Check for obstructions: Spin the fan blade gently by hand. Remove any ice buildup, wiring, or insulation blocking movement. Do not bend the blades.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the fan harness is firmly connected and not rubbing against the blades. Secure with cable ties.
- Test fan motor: If you have a suitable DC power source (often 12V or 24V depending on model), briefly power the fan off the unit to confirm operation. If it does not spin, replace the fan motor assembly.
- PCB check: If a known-good fan does not run when connected, the main control PCB fan output may be defective and require replacement.
- Reassemble: Refit panels carefully to avoid pinching wires, then restore power and confirm E6 is cleared.
