Possible Causes
Failed Peltier cooling module, Open circuit in Peltier wiring, Overheated or failed Peltier heat sink fan, Faulty Peltier driver circuit on main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing rear or side panels.
- Identify cooling type: Confirm your mQuvée model uses thermoelectric (Peltier) technology (usually smaller, quieter units) rather than a compressor.
- Access Peltier assembly: Remove the rear panel to expose the Peltier module sandwiched between interior and exterior heat sinks with a fan.
- Check fan operation: A failed fan can overheat and damage the Peltier. Spin the fan by hand and check for dust buildup. Clean thoroughly and replace the fan if seized.
- Inspect wiring: Look for burnt connectors or discolored wires at the Peltier module. Repair or replace damaged harnesses.
- Module test: If possible, test the Peltier module with a suitable DC supply (respecting voltage/current ratings). If it does not create a temperature difference across its sides, replace the module.
- Thermal paste: When replacing the Peltier, clean old thermal compound from both heat sink surfaces and apply a thin, even layer of new thermal paste for proper heat transfer.
- PCB driver: If the Peltier and fan are good but receive no power from the PCB, the driver circuit is likely faulty. Replace the main control PCB.
