Possible Causes
Failed compressor start relay, Open or weak PTC starter, Tripped or defective overload protector, Internal compressor mechanical failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler. Work carefully around the sealed refrigeration system; do not cut or open refrigerant lines.
- Access compressor area: Remove the rear lower panel to expose the compressor, start relay, and overload protector.
- Listen and feel: When briefly powered (then unplugged again), a clicking sound from the relay or overload followed by compressor silence suggests a start fault.
- Inspect components: Remove the plastic cover on the compressor terminals. Check the PTC start relay and overload protector for burn marks, cracks, or loose fit.
- Replace start components: If visually damaged or if E8 persists, replace the start relay and overload protector with mQuvée‑specified parts.
- Check wiring: Ensure all spade connectors are tight on the compressor terminals and that the earth (ground) connection is secure.
- Test run: Reassemble covers, restore power, and monitor compressor operation. If the compressor still fails to start and E8 returns, the compressor itself may be locked or internally damaged.
- Compressor replacement: Replacing a sealed compressor requires specialized tools and refrigerant handling certification. Contact an authorized refrigeration technician.
