Possible Causes
Failed display PCB, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Loose ribbon cable between display and main board, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Dry environment: If the unit is installed in a very humid area, wipe down the exterior and allow the control area to dry for several hours with the unit unplugged.
- Access control panel: Remove the screws securing the top/front control panel. Gently pull it forward.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Check the flat ribbon cable or harness connecting the display PCB to the main control board. Reseat both ends firmly.
- Check for corrosion: Look for signs of moisture, corrosion, or burnt components on the display PCB. Light corrosion can sometimes be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush (only when fully disconnected and dry before re-powering).
- Replace display PCB: If EE persists and damage is visible, replace the display/control PCB with the correct NEEDONE part.
- Test: Reassemble, restore power, and verify that the display functions normally and EE is cleared.
