Possible Causes
Misaligned or failed magnetic door reed switch, Loose door switch wiring, Weak or missing door magnet, Faulty main PCB door input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing trims or panels around the door frame.
Steps to address E14:
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and is not obstructed by shelves or bottles. Verify that the cabinet is level so the door can seal properly.
- Inspect door gasket: Look for warped or damaged gasket that might prevent the door from engaging the sensor correctly.
- Locate door sensor: On many Neff wine coolers, a magnetic reed switch is located in the cabinet frame, with a corresponding magnet in the door.
- Test magnet alignment: Slowly close the door and observe if the alarm stops just before full closure. If not, the magnet may be misaligned or weak. Adjust or replace as needed.
- Check wiring: Access the frame area and verify that the door switch wiring is intact and connected to the main PCB.
- Replace door switch: If the sensor does not change state when a magnet is placed near it, replace the reed switch assembly with a Neff-compatible part.
