• Inspect compressor compartment: Remove the rear lower service panel. Look for burnt smells, discoloration, or melted insulation around the compressor and inverter module (if fitted).
• Check connections: Verify that the compressor plug and any inverter module connectors are firmly seated. Tighten any loose earth/ground connections.
• Listen for compressor behavior: After reassembling and restoring power, listen for repeated clicking or humming without start-up, which indicates a start device or compressor issue.
• Do not attempt sealed system repairs: If the compressor is not starting or is drawing excessive current, the start device, inverter, or compressor itself may need replacement. These are sealed-system/electrical repairs that should be performed by a Neff-authorized technician.
