Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice obstruction around fan blades, Loose or damaged fan wiring, Faulty fan driver circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the interior fan.
Steps to address E6:
- Access the fan: Remove shelves and the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
- Check for ice or obstructions: Look for ice buildup or foreign objects (labels, foil, corks) blocking the fan. Carefully remove obstructions and allow any ice to melt naturally.
- Spin the fan by hand: With power off, gently rotate the fan blades. If they are stiff or seized, the motor is likely faulty and should be replaced.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the fan connector is fully seated and wires are not pinched or broken.
- Test operation: Reassemble panels, restore power, and listen for the fan running when the compressor is on. If the fan does not run and E6 remains, replace the evaporator fan motor with a Neff-compatible part.
- Control board check: If a new fan does not resolve the issue, the main control PCB may not be supplying power to the fan and may require professional replacement.
