Possible Causes
Faulty cabinet temperature sensor, Stuck relay on main control PCB, Incorrect calibration of control electronics, Sensor not properly positioned in airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors or the control board.
Steps to address:
- Verify with thermometer: Place an accurate thermometer in the middle of the cabinet and compare actual temperature to the display.
- Adjust setpoint: Temporarily raise the set temperature by several degrees and observe if the compressor cycles off more frequently.
- Inspect sensor placement: Ensure the cabinet NTC sensor is correctly clipped in its holder and not touching the evaporator directly, which can cause false low readings.
- Replace sensor: If readings are inconsistent or the control does not respond, replace the cabinet temperature sensor.
- Control board issue: If a new sensor does not correct overcooling, the main control PCB may have a stuck relay or calibration fault and should be replaced by a technician.
