Possible Causes
Misaligned door magnet or reed switch, Failed door switch sensor on control board, Loose door switch wiring, Warped door not closing fully
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before adjusting internal switches.
Steps:
- 1. Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket makes uniform contact all around. Look for bottles or shelves preventing full closure.
- 2. Inspect door magnet: Many NutriChef wine coolers use a magnetic reed switch. Check that the magnet strip in the door frame is intact and aligned with the switch location.
- 3. Locate door switch: The reed switch is often behind the front frame near the top or side. Access may require removing the front trim or control panel.
- 4. Test switch: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the switch leads and test continuity with a multimeter while placing a magnet near the switch. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
- 5. Adjust alignment: If the switch works but does not detect the door, adjust the door hinges or gently reposition the magnet (if separate) so it lines up with the switch.
- 6. Control board: If the switch and magnet are good but dE persists, the door-sense circuit on the main control board may be faulty and require replacement.
