Display shows E2 and the temperature reading is inaccurate or dashes; unit may run continuously or not at all.

Safety: Disconnect power before opening any panels.

Steps:

• 1. Identify which sensor is E2: On many NutriChef dual-zone wine coolers, E2 corresponds to the upper-zone or ambient thermistor. Consult the user manual if available.
• 2. Access the sensor: Look inside the upper compartment for a small plastic cover or probe on the rear or side wall. Gently remove any cover to expose the sensor.
• 3. Visual inspection: Check for moisture damage, broken insulation, or a sensor that has pulled out of its mounting clip. Ensure the sensor tip is not touching the evaporator plate directly unless designed to.
• 4. Check wiring to the board: Remove the rear service panel. Trace the sensor wires to the main control board. Reseat the connector and inspect for corrosion or pin damage.
• 5. Test with a multimeter: Unplug the sensor from the board and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to the expected NTC value (often similar to the cabinet thermistor). If open or shorted, replace the sensor.
• 6. Replace sensor if needed: Install a compatible NutriChef ambient/upper-zone thermistor. Secure wiring away from hot components and fan blades.
• 7. Evaluate control board: If a new sensor does not clear E2, the main control board may be defective and require replacement.
