Possible Causes
Failed DC fan with tachometer output, Fan connector loose or reversed, Obstruction preventing fan rotation, Faulty fan speed sensing circuit on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before accessing internal components.
Steps:
- 1. Access fan: Remove the interior rear panel or rear service panel (depending on model) to expose the evaporator or heat sink fan.
- 2. Check for obstructions: Ensure no wires, foam, or labels are contacting the fan blades. Clear any debris and verify the fan spins freely by hand.
- 3. Verify wiring: Confirm the fan connector is fully seated on the control board and that the wires are not reversed (for 3-wire fans with tach output).
- 4. Test fan: If possible, power the fan directly with its rated DC voltage (often 12V DC) from a bench supply to confirm operation. Replace the fan if it does not spin or is noisy.
- 5. Replace fan: Install a NutriChef-compatible DC fan with the same size and voltage rating. Ensure correct orientation for airflow.
- 6. Control board: If a good fan is installed and F1 persists, the fan speed sensing circuit on the main control board may be defective and require board replacement.
