Display shows CF and the compressor does not run or runs erratically.

Safety warning: Work around the compressor only with power disconnected. High starting currents can be dangerous.

• Inspect compressor wiring: With the unit unplugged, remove the rear panel and check all wires to the compressor, start relay, and overload protector. Ensure tight, corrosion-free connections.
• Check for overheating: If the compressor shell is extremely hot, allow it to cool and verify that the condenser fan is working and vents are clear.
• Reset power: After cooling, plug the unit back in and observe whether the compressor starts smoothly or triggers CF again.
• Replace start components if suspect: If the compressor hums and clicks off, replace the "Compressor start relay/PTC" and overload as a first step.
• Control board replacement: If wiring and start components are good but CF persists, the current sensing circuit on the "Main control board" may be faulty and require board replacement.
• Professional service: If the compressor is locked or drawing excessive current, a sealed-system technician is required to replace the compressor.
