Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing trim or accessing wiring around the door frame.

• Check door closure: Ensure nothing is blocking the door. Inspect shelves and bottles to confirm they are not protruding.
• Inspect gasket and alignment: Look for warped door or twisted cabinet that prevents full closure. Adjust leveling feet so the door self-closes gently.
• Locate door switch: On many Phiestina models, a magnetic reed switch is hidden in the cabinet frame and a magnet is embedded in the door. Some models use a visible plunger switch at the top or side.
• Test switch function: With the unit plugged in, open and close the door while watching the interior light and display. If the light stays on or the door icon remains, the switch may be faulty.
• Check magnet alignment: If using a magnetic switch, ensure the door magnet is present and aligned with the frame switch location. If the magnet has fallen out, replace or reattach it.
• Replace door switch: Order a "Phiestina door switch" or "magnetic reed switch" for your model. Access the switch from inside the cabinet or from the top frame, disconnect the old switch, and install the new one, routing wires neatly.
• Test and confirm: Restore power and verify that the door alarm clears when the door is closed and that the interior light turns off.
