Possible Causes
Stuck relay on main control board keeping compressor on, Faulty temperature sensor reading too warm, Incorrect temperature setting or mode, Door gasket leaking causing overrun
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Extremely low temperatures can damage wine. Adjust settings and correct faults promptly.
- Check set temperature: Verify that the setpoint is appropriate for wine (typically 40–65°F / 5–18°C depending on type). Adjust upward if set too low.
- Inspect door gasket: A leaking gasket can cause the compressor to run excessively. Clean the gasket with mild soap and water and check for tears or warping. Replace if damaged.
- Monitor compressor cycling: Observe whether the compressor ever shuts off. If it runs continuously even when the cabinet is very cold, the control board or sensor may be faulty.
- Check cabinet sensor: If the sensor reads warmer than actual, the unit will overcool. Inspect and, if necessary, replace the "Cabinet temperature sensor" as in the E1 scenario.
- Replace control board if relay stuck: If the compressor remains powered regardless of temperature or settings, the compressor relay on the main control board may be stuck closed. Replace the "Main control board" following the E9 procedure.
