Possible Causes
Aged or brittle gasket material, Physical damage from bottles or cleaning tools, Misaligned door causing gasket stress
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before replacing the gasket to avoid the fan running while the door is open for an extended time.
- 1. Inspect entire gasket: Run your hand around the gasket to feel for gaps, tears, or hardened sections.
- 2. Try reshaping: For minor warping, warm the gasket with a hair dryer on low and gently pull it into shape. Allow it to cool while the door is closed.
- 3. Replace gasket: If damage is significant, remove the old gasket by pulling it out of the retaining channel. Press the new Samsung-compatible gasket firmly into the channel, working around the door.
- 4. Check seal: Close the door and inspect for uniform contact. Adjust hinges if necessary.
Note: Do not use petroleum-based cleaners on gaskets; they can degrade the rubber.
