Possible Causes

Blocked condenser airflow, Failed condenser fan motor, Dirty condenser coils, Faulty high-temperature sensor or thermal protector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the wine cooler before cleaning coils or accessing the rear compartment.

  • 1. Check installation clearance: Ensure there is adequate space around the sides, back, and top of the unit for ventilation as specified in the Samsung manual. Poor ventilation can cause overheating.
  • 2. Clean condenser coils: Remove the rear lower cover and use a soft brush and vacuum to clean dust and lint from the condenser coils. Dirty coils reduce heat dissipation and raise operating temperatures.
  • 3. Verify condenser fan operation: With the unit powered (briefly), observe the condenser fan next to the compressor. It should run whenever the compressor is running. If it does not spin or is noisy, unplug the unit and inspect for obstructions or a failed motor.
  • 4. Test condenser fan motor: With power off, check the fan for free rotation by hand and measure motor resistance. Replace the condenser fan motor if open or seized.
  • 5. Inspect thermal protector: Some models include a thermal cutoff or protector near the compressor or condenser. If accessible, test for continuity and replace if open.
  • 6. Reset and monitor: After cleaning and any repairs, restore power, clear the error (if applicable), and monitor temperatures for several hours.

Warning: Do not operate the unit with the rear cover removed for extended periods; proper airflow requires all covers in place.
