Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between display board and main PCB, Failed user interface (UI) board, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Main PCB communication circuit failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the wine cooler before removing the control panel or accessing the electronics.
- 1. Inspect for moisture: Check around the control panel for signs of condensation or liquid spills. Dry the area thoroughly and allow the unit to sit unplugged for several hours.
- 2. Remove control panel: Carefully remove any trim and screws securing the control panel. Gently pull it forward to access the ribbon cable or harness.
- 3. Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect and reconnect the flat ribbon cable or harness between the UI board and the main PCB. Ensure it is fully seated and not damaged.
- 4. Inspect UI board: Look for corrosion, burnt components, or cracked solder joints on the display board. Replace the UI board if visibly damaged or if buttons do not respond.
- 5. Check main PCB: If the UI board appears good but F1 persists, the main control board may not be communicating properly and may need replacement.
- 6. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the control panel, restore power, and test all buttons and display functions.
Note: Avoid using harsh cleaners directly on the control panel; spray onto a cloth instead.
