Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Always unplug the unit before inspecting electrical components. For basic checks, you can leave it powered to observe behavior, but do not remove panels while energized.
- 1. Check door seal: Inspect the door gasket for gaps, tears, or debris. Close the door on a sheet of paper at several points; if the paper pulls out easily, the seal may be weak or the door misaligned. Clean the gasket and adjust hinges if needed.
- 2. Allow recovery time: If you recently loaded many warm bottles or had a power outage, the H1 alarm may be temporary. Allow 12–24 hours for the temperature to stabilize.
- 3. Verify cooling operation: Listen for the compressor and internal fan. If neither runs for long periods, there may be a control or sensor issue. If they run continuously but temperature does not drop, there may be a sealed system problem.
- 4. Check cabinet thermistor: Follow the steps similar to E1: locate, inspect, and test the cabinet temperature sensor. Replace if readings are out of spec.
- 5. Inspect condenser and airflow: Clean condenser coils and ensure the condenser fan is operating to prevent overheating and poor cooling.
- 6. Call a technician for sealed system issues: If the compressor runs but the unit does not cool and there is no frost pattern on the evaporator, the system may be low on refrigerant or have a restriction, requiring professional service.
Note: After correcting the cause, some models allow you to silence or reset the alarm via the control panel.
