Possible Causes
Stuck relay on main control board, Shorted cabinet thermistor, Miscalibrated temperature sensor, Control panel set too low
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before testing sensors or accessing the control board.
- 1. Verify set temperature: Check the display and raise the set temperature to a typical wine storage range (e.g., 10–14°C / 50–57°F).
- 2. Use a separate thermometer: Place an accurate thermometer inside to confirm actual temperature versus display.
- 3. Inspect cabinet thermistor: Locate the sensor and ensure it is not touching the evaporator plate or a very cold surface. Reposition if necessary.
- 4. Test thermistor: With power off, measure resistance and compare to spec. A shorted sensor will read very low resistance and cause overcooling. Replace if faulty.
- 5. Check main PCB: If the sensor is good but the compressor runs excessively and temperature drops too low, the compressor relay on the PCB may be stuck closed. Replace the main control board.
Note: Avoid storing wine at temperatures near freezing; this can damage corks and flavor.
